Scope for women students brighter

        Scope International, a wholly- owned subsidiary of Standard Chartered Bank, the UK, has launched an exclusive portal for women students - 'We@Scope'.

        The portal aims at empowering students through online interaction with women managers of Scope International.

        The portal would provide online training, counseling, mentoring, career guidance, knowledge of prevailing industry trends and the skills required for gaining employment.

        Two women's colleges Stella Maris College and MOP Vaishnav College for Women also signed agreements with Scope International in this regard.

        A book on soft skills and corporate etiquette named 'InCorporate' was also released on the occasion by Peter Sands, group chief executive, Standard Chartered Bank.

        Dr C Chandramouli, secretary, Information and Technology, government of Tamilnadu, received the first copy of the book. The book was written by Sashi Ravichandran, Head, Corporate Affairs, Scope International.

        Speaking on the occasion, Chandramouli said the State government would set up an Information Technology academy to develop communication and language skills of the students. The academy would look into all aspects of Information Technology, he added.

        Speaking on this occasion, Peter Sands said, 'Scope offers an array of services to our group worldwide and because of this diversity we recruit best talent in the community.

        Therefore it was fitting to work with the colleges to nurture the students.' Sreeram Iyer, CEO, Scope International, and others were also present.
