        A man had allegedly cheated 10 sovereign gold ornaments from a woman by posing as a doctor.

        According to police, Sangeetha (53), a resident of Govindasamy Naicken Street at Parrys Corner was admitted to a hospital at Adambakkam for kidney operation.

        At around 1 pm yesterday, a person wearing the attire of a doctor came to Sangeetha and took gold ornaments from her stating that they were not allowed during operation. Later, Sangeetha came to know that he was not a doctor and filed a complaint with the Adambakkam police. A search is on to nab the culprit.
