        A total of 450 candidates have been qualified for the post of Assistant Station Master and allied categories in the examination conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Chennai.

        According to a press release, the selected candidates will occupy critical safety category post in Southern Railway after training. This is the largest selection conducted by the board in the current year.

        The selection process for these posts consisted of two stage examinations. The preliminary examination was conducted for more than 99,000 candidates in July 2007 and the second stage was an online examination held on 23 September 2007.
