Speaking to News Today,
M Saravanan and N Anand conveners of the event said it was being organised
as part of the State-wide celebrations of the centenary of the second chief
of the RSS, Sri Guruji Golwalkar.
The event would feature lectures on diverse subjects of national importance, cultural programmes, a parade of traditional attire and its significance. Focus would be on the contribution of Sri Golwalkar to the Hindu cause and the RSS and the need to strengthen Hindu unity and promote harmony among various Hindu communities. The serious problems that unabated religious conversions could cause to the demographic landscape of the country as in the case of Assam would be highlighted. The conference would also debate and enlighten the people on topics like terrorism and Hindutva. The debate on Hindutva would 'demystify the misinformation campaign' carried out by vested political interests, the conveners said. 'Islamic and Maoist terrorism has spread its tentacles throughout the country and poses a big threat,' Anand said and added that the conference would try to sensitise people on the need to be 'on guard' against such anti national forces. |
Tirap and Changlang districts of Arunachal Pradesh and major parts of the northeast was a hotbed of NSCN rebels. They have the 'strong backing of the Baptist Church' and extortion and forcible conversions happen with the 'blessings of the clergy', he added and stressed that the Hindu resurgence conference would bring to light threats like these.
'It is an open secret that
in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, the Church provides the emotional nucleus
of secessionism. Confronting the problem necessitates links and alliances
that go well beyond Arunachal.' the conveners said on the need to create
awareness on these aspects of terrorism and the conference would do its
best in this direction.
