        Watts Humphrey Software Quality Institute, well- known as SQI, has introduced a course 'High Maturity Software Professional Program' (HMSP).

        The course aims to be a finishing school to transform fresh graduates, postgraduates and low maturity software professionals into highly capable, productive and employable candidates with mature software development skills.

        The course instructors are authorised by Carnegie Mellon University, USA, and are instructors of Advanced Information Services with offices in India and the US.

        Dr M Anandakrishnan, former Vice-Chancellor, Anna University, speaking on this occasion, said the objective of the institute in starting this course was far-sighted. He also said employability of a student is the responsibility of the teacher, student and the employer. Dr L N Rajaram, director, SQI, welcomed the gathering.

        HMSP is a three months full- time course comprising three stages and five modules namely Professional Programming Practices (PPP), a preparatory course for fresh engineers designed by Watts Humphrey Quality Institute, Personal Software Process(PSP), designed and developed by Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, USA and project work using Team Software Principles (TSP), which involve builds team work, enhance interpersonal skills and communication skills.
