Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today announced incentives for the Tamilnadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) employees and ordered the same to be implemented immediately.
According to a press release, on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Home Secretary, Finance Department secretary and TASMAC managing director held discussions with the representatives of the TASMAC employees unions and put forward the recommendations benefitting them.
The incentives are: remuneration for TASMAC supervisor, salesmen and bar assistants shall be hiked by Rs 500, Rs 400 and Rs 300 respectively. The current package is Rs 3,000 for supervisor, Rs 2,000 for salesmen and Rs 1,500 for bar assistants. By this hike, 30,730 employees would be benefitted by Rs 17.27 crore per year.
Further, change in time of
operating TASMAC shops from 10 a m to 11 p m as against the existing 8
a m to 12 p m schedule, raising the financial aid from Rs 1 lakh to Rs
1.5 lakh to the kith and kin of the employee who dies on duty, reducing
the rate of interest from 2.5 per cent to 1.5 per cent on the supervisors
bearing the sales of snacks and collecting empty bottles in bars which
are not owned by the private parties, issuance of 3.5 per cent interest
to the deposit amount given by supervisors (Rs 50,000), salesmen (Rs 15,000)
and bar assistants (Rs 10,000). By this, the supervisor, salesmen and bar
assistants would get Rs 1,750, Rs 525 and Rs 350 per year respectively,
the release added.
