        A 3-year-old boy got drowned in a dilapidated well at a village near Gingee, while his cousin was rescued by neighbours.

        Srimathi, 13, daughter of Jayapal living at Chithaampoondi near Gingee, and her cousin Kamesh, 3, were playing yesterday along with other children outside their house. During their play, both Srimathi and Kamesh slipped and fell down at a well through its broken retaining wall.

        As the news of the mishap spread fast, the neigbours gathered around the well to rescue the duo. While Srimathi could be rescued, the body of Kamesh could be retrieved only by Fire and Rescue Services team.
