All India Telugu Federation has briefed a delegation from the Department of Education, government of Andhra Pradesh, on the problems faced by Telugu educationists in Tamilnadu.
The delegation, headed by N Rajyalakshmi, Minister of Education, government of Andhra Pradesh, was here yesterday following an assurance given in this regard by Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y S Raja Sekhar Reddy during the anniversary celebrations of the Federation held last year.
Speaking on the occasion,
Rajya Lakshmi said she was happy to note that Telugu people residing in
the State were interested in protecting their culture and mother tongue.
She also said the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh had assured them of
taking all necessary measures to preserve and promote Telugu and also solve
the problems of Telugu people. She also said discussions would be held
with the government of Tamilnadu in this regard. Balasubramanyam, director
of School Education, government of Andhra Pradesh, C M K Reddy, president,
All India Telugu Federation, were also present.
