SPi, a global BPO provider, announced the opening of its new facility in Chennai.
The new facility is part of SPi’s $50 million expansion and acquisition plans that reflects the company’s continued growth and increased demand for services from its customers.
Speaking to mediapersons yesterday, Ernest L Cu, president and CEO, SPi said the growing volume of our book editorial and production services business and medical transcription business along with the types of skill set available here, has prompted us to make the strategic decision to expand and build this new facility.
He said Spi capabilitities in Chennai would continue to be supplemented by existing delivery centres in Delhi, Puducherry and Coimbatore and added that the headcount would be increased from the present strength of 1200 employess in India.
The new facility with a
space of 17,000 sq ft would provide an employment opportunity to over 360
content specialists.
