MMA to host workshop 21 July

        World renowned management guru Prof Jagdish Sheth of Emory University, USA will be conducting a one-day workshop on 'Creating Global Mindset' on 21 July, 2007 in Chennai. This workshop is jointly organized by All India Management Association (AIMA) and Madras Management Association (MMA). The main objective behind organizing this workshop is to provide insights on 'how to globalize and tap a world of opportunities' in a 'flat world' as India gets increasingly integrated with global economy. Jagdish Sheth is a renowned scholar and world authority in the field of marketing. His insights on global competition, strategic thinking and customer relationship management are considered revolutionary. He is recognised as a distinguished faculty at Emory University, USA. Prior to this, he was a professor at Columbia University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Southern California. He has published over 200 books and research papers on management.

Atul, CMO for Perot Systems


        Perot Systems Corporation announced the appointment of Atul Vohra as chief marketing officer. Vohra will be responsible for providing company-wide leadership for marketing and communications. He will work closely with the company's operating and shared service units to enhance the company's marketing and communications strategy and delivery structure. 'The role of chief marketing officer is new for Perot Systems,' said Peter Altabef, president and chief executive officer, Perot Systems. 'Atul has built brands, businesses and teams in his diverse global career spanning multiple industries and three continents. His extensive experience will be a tremendous asset to the company as we move forward with our business.' Vohra joined Perot Systems in 2004 and was responsible for U.S. applications operations within the Consulting and Applications Solutions group until his appointment as CMO.

        Before joining Perot Systems, he led the US operations for Mastek, an offshore IT services company. He has also worked in senior marketing and general management roles across Asia, Europe and America for organizations such as American Express, Cheesebrough Ponds and Citigroup (where he led the establishment of Citigroup's Consumer Business in Hungary in 1995).

Lucas-TVS wins Japanese award


        Lucas-TVS, the auto electricals major has once again bagged theprestigious Japanese Award, 'JIT Grand Prix' from the JIT Management Laboratory Company Ltd, Japan, for the work done during the year 2006-07 on JIT Methodology among other companies. The award was received by Dr N Ravichandran, president (operations), at the 19th convention of JIT held on 6 July, 2007 at Tokyo, Japan. Jet Airways partners with Jet Lite


        Jet Lite, a subsidiary of Jet Airways (India) Ltd. is the new and latest addition to the list of airline partners of the Jet Privilege programme and the first value based airline in India to offer frequent flyer programme benefits to its passengers. Effective July, all the members of the COSMOS frequent flyer programme have been enrolled into Jet Airways Jet Privilege programme and all their balance miles have been transferred to their Jet Privilege account. Members of India's largest frequent flyer programme— Jet Privilege can also now earn and redeem JP Miles for their flights on Jet Lite. With the combined network of Jet Airways and Jet Lite connecting all the important cities in India and schedules offering flexibility and convenience of travel, Jet Privilege members now have a wider choice of destinations to choose for their travel. The merging of the frequent flyer programme of Jet Lite (formerly Air Sahara) into Jet Privilege, will further strengthen the position of Jet Privilege as the largest frequent flyer programme in India.
