Nadigar Sangam to get new building

at the general body meeting of the Nadigar Sangam held in Chennai today.

        The annual meeting of the general body of South India Film Artistes Association (SIFAA) was convened today in which 450 actors and actresses took part to pass various resolutions which included one that called for all those acting in Tamil films to compulsorily enroll themselves with the organisation.

        Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Sarath Kumar, president, SIFAA, said a mega star nite would be held in Singapore in August and the proceeds from the show would be utilised for the construction of a new building at the Nadigar Sangam complex in T Nagar.

        The new building would have ten-floors and shopping malls. On the PMK founder S Ramadoss' recent statement against actors and their fans, Sarath Kumar chose to remain quiet. He also urged the corporate firms who opted to produce Tamil films to enroll with the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) first before venturing into the tinsel world.

        A host of film personalities including Vijayakumar, Manorama, Sathyaraj, Nepolean, Thiyagu, Mumtaz, Sripriya, Radharavi and Charlie among others took part in the deliberations at the AGM held today.
