        A man, belonging to Royapuram, committed suicide by jumping off the third floor of an apartment. By this act, he caused the death of a boy by falling on him as the latter happened to be walking on the ground then.

        Police sources, speaking on the twin death, said Jayakanthan (28) of Nedunchezhiyan Nagar at Tondiarpet, studied upto tenth standard and was said to have lost his parents. He had been to a relative's house at Royapuram on Ibrahaim Street. By around 7.30 pm he went to the third floor and leaped from there. He fell on Mustaq Ali (7) who was returning home from tuition. While Jayakanthan died instantly, the boy was seriously injured and admitted to Government General Hospital. He also succumbed to injuries.

        North beach police have registered a case and are inquiring.
