State government is all set to appoint over 1000 nurses in Primary Health Centres across the State in a month's time, said Health Minister K K S S R Ramachandran here.
Issuing appointment orders to Village Heath Nurses, auxiliary nurses and midwife and other anganwadi workers at Health And Family Welfare Training Centre yesterday, the Minister said, ' around 253 village health nurses have been promoted to sector health nurses while 230 anganwadi workers have been promoted as village health nurses at the health and family welfare training centres.'
Over 568 vacancies have been filled up. The anganwadi employees, mid-day meal employees, village health nurses, Auxiliary Nurses and Midwife (ANM) who were getting time scale pay were recruited on a permanent basis, he added.
Apart from this, 26 junior assistants were posted on compassionate basis, 112 were appointed for the same earlier. Other than this 19 junior assistants who were trained in typing would be appointed on seniority basis. While 30 other employees like sweepers, sanitary workers who were receiving consolidated pay would be promoted as junior assistants with time scale pay.
Counselling for the recruited persons was also held. Employees from Kancheepuram, Thiruvannamalai and Cuddalore were also present.
Speaking to reporters on
sidelines of the function, Health Minister said that 300 students would
be admitted in three government medical colleges for which counselling
would commence from tomorrow (9 July).
