        Chief Minister M Karunanidhi yesterday wished a speedy recovery to External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who was injured in a road accident in West Bengal.

        'I was very shocked to hear the news and I am a little relieved to know that you have escaped without any serious injury,' said the Chief Minister in a letter to Mukherjee.

        The Chief Minister also said that Mukherjee's services were required by the country.

        'While I wish you a speedy recovery, I kindly request that you take complete rest before you resume duty,' he added.
