In its silver jubilee year, Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College has devised plans to hold Inter-Engineering Sports (TIES) event here in a befitting manner.
Around 40,000 students are to vie for honours in various events for men (86 colleges) and women (72 colleges).
Governor Surjit Singh Barnala will inaugurate the event on 11 February (at 11 a.m).
The support of Canara Bank (main sponsors) and Indian Bank (co-sponsors) was gratefully acknowledged by Dr V K R Jeyasingh, College Principal and Chairman, TIES 2007, at a media briefing on Wednesday.
Salient features of the two-week delight was provided by Harish L Mehta, Secretary and Correspondent of the college. P Chengapandian, Secretary, TIES, was also present.
With a view to combine entertainment, rock shows and movies will be a feature of this edition.
Model-turned actress Padma Narayan is to preside over the rock show and inspire the performers.
The introduction of women's
football is the highlight of this year's edition, Women's events will be
on the first three days before men take over after a day's break.
