Judge of Madras High Court Justice Chitra Venkataraman today called upon the accounting fraternity especially auditors to fine-tune their system to the ever-changing global environment as change is the order of the day.
She said this while inaugurating a two-day platinum jubilee conference of the Society of Auditors in Chennai.
Justice Chitra said, 'You (auditors) are the ones who shape growth charts and finance management of many companies, and auditors' participation is vital to frame government's fiscal policy'. She also said the time has come to reassess their capabilities in the globalised world.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO and managing director of 3i Infotech Limited V Srinivasan said, 'auditors should see things in many perspectives as every dimension will show different things.'
He said, 'our (Indian) knowledge supremacy has been recognised in the West, and capitalising on that with a right combination of knowledge and agility, we can achieve supremacy in a globalised environment.'
Earlier, chairman of platinum
committee G Narayanaswamy outlined the growth of Society of Auditors over
the years. The two-day conference had four technical sessions in which
