Sir,
The speech of Electricity Minister Arcot Veerasamy in the presence of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, criticising the judiciary is totally unwarranted and should have been avoided.
In today's circumstances, when criminal elements and dishonest persons have taken stranglehold over politics in the country, citizens look forward to the Judiciary to impose corrective measures not only in tune with the law but also in tune with the moral principles. With so much of attrocities taking place, people still put up with the difficulties since judiciary gives them hope.
It may be inconvenient for the party belonging to Arcot Veerasamy and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. but, citizens largely welcome the stand of the Madras High Court on the recent civic polls in Chennai city.

Sir,
It is silly and unbecoming of the Tamilnadu Chief Minister to justify the impertinent remarks on the Judiciary by his Cabinet colleague and his tacit approval thereof by stating that similar remarks were made by his predecessor. Two wrongs do not cancel out each other. Both of them continue to be severally wrong.
