        An unidentified thief reportedly broke open a window and struck at a house in Baluchettichatram when the family was away.

        Police said Mani, residing at Baluchettichatram was out of town along with his family, locking his house. In their absence some one entered the house through the window by bending its bars and stole gold, silver worth over Rs 50,000.
