The free LPG gas and stove connection scheme, one of the poll promises of the DMK, would be launched on 14 January, an official press release said.
Chief Minister M Karunanidhi would inaugurate it at 10 am at Thomas Salai Housing Board Colony area.
Union Petroleum Minister Murali Deora would preside in the presence of Local Administration Minister M K Stalin, Union Information and Telecommunications Minister Dayanidhi Maran, Food and Civil Supplies Minister A V Velu, Chief Secretary L K Tripathi and Chennai Corporation Mayor M Subramanian.
On that very evening at 4 pm Ministers would be participating in the distribution functions in all the districts of the State.
Following this on 16 January at six selected centres, Ministers would distribute LPG connections and stoves to the poor.

Minister Parithi Ilamvazhudhi would present the connections.
