Chennai, Jan 9:
BJP State president L Ganesan today urged the Dravidar Kazhagam not to install rationalist leader
E V R Periyar's statues in front of Hindu temples.
He also said the party could not accept the acts of either damaging the statues of Periyar or those of Hindu deities.
In a statement here, the BJP leader recalled the comments made by Hindu organisations condemning the 'disgrace' made to Periyar's statues in Tamilnadu.
Stating that the same should
be followed by the rationalist parties too, Ganesan said the BJP would
show its protest in a democratic way and move the Court and see recourse
to law if the Dravidar Kazhagam involved itself in doing anything that
would hurt the sentiments of Hindus.
