        Meenakshi Deemed University has signed an memorandum of understanding with YRG Care institution to conduct research on AIDS.

        At a function held at the university functioning in Enathur near here yesterday, Vice-Chancellor of the university Munirathnan and YRG Care representative Sunithi Solomon signed the MoU.

        Speaking on the occasion, Munirathnam said YRG Care has been taking several initiatives in preventing AIDS. The students of the university will be guided in this connection, he said.

        Sunithi Solomon said at present there were 55 lakh AIDS patient in the country. As part of the precautionary measures, 79 research papers have been submitted so far, Sunithi said.

        University Chancellor A N Radha, medical college deen Ganapathy, deen of England Glasgow university Eric Walker were among those participated.
