Marine fare on a platter

Varieties of seafood served in a serene atmosphere by waiters attired as fishermen give the feeling that one is dining on the seashore.

Held at the rooftop restaurant, the evening breeze must have surely conjured up this feeling in anyone who are having a feast at the ongoing Fish Bazaar, sea food festival in The Rain Tree, St Marys Road, at Alwarpet .

Catering specifically to seafood lovers, there is a variety of options one could choose from. 'The freshness of the fish is maintained as we replenish our stocks daily,' said executive chef Jugesh Arora.

The customer has to choose fish kept in a basket which is then weighed and cooked in front of him or her. 'This concept attracts many as the people know what they want to partake of,' he added.

There are around 16 varieties of fishes with few imported ones. The varieties include seer fish, Indian salmon and small lady fish. Even octopus and squid prawns are on the list.

It is left to the choice of having grilled, poached, cooked in curry or in tandoor but the chef here ensures a tongue- tingling taste of all these kinds.

The festival concludes on 11 March. Since the preference is on a first- come- first serve basis. Reservations can be made through phone: 24304050.
