Bandits broke into a house and decamped with cash and jewellery when the inmates had gone to a temple.
Police said Jayaraman, residing on Sriperumbudur Therady Street, in view of his daughter's marriage, had been to Thirukadiyur temple day before yesterday with his family members.
On their return this morning,
they found to their shock that their house was broke open and 20 sovereigns
of gold and Rs 30,000 in cash were missing. They lodged a complaint with
the Sriperumbudur police who have registered a case and are conducting
further investigations.
