        Former Election Commissioner T S Krishnamurthy released the English version of Thirukural translated by V Srinivasan in Chennai recently.

        According to a press release, Srivijayam Publications Ltd launched their maiden publication comprising contemporary Tamil novel and short stories selected from the works of budding writers.

        The books included Nangavathu Thoon by Madhumitha, Vikkramadittan Kavithaigal by Vikkramathian and Kanal Theru by K S Sivakumar. Industrialist Nalli Kuppusamy Chetti, former Indian Bank chairman T S Raghavan, Trade union leader L Balasubramaniyan, novelists Prabanjan, Ashokamithiran and Lena Tamilvanan were among those present.
