Welspun India Limited, the flagship company of $1 billion Welspun group, reported a 79 per cent rise in sales at Rs 2,764 million in Q2 as compared to Rs 1,547 million in the same quarter last year. EBITDA grew by 46 per cent to Rs 551 mn.
The net profit increased by 45 per cent at Rs 183 mn and overall cash profit increased by 41 per cent to Rs 340 mn. The towel division continued to do well.
While for sheeting, this was the second significant quarter for the business, contributing Rs 1,052 mn to the top line and a healthy bottom line. Most of the Phase II Anjar project is proceeding as per
plans. The entire project is appraised by premier financial institutions and vetted for TUF benefits entitlement.
