Companies have to identify and nurture talent, besides providing ample opportunities for the employees to progress in their chosen field for long term success of the enterprises.
At a national conference on 'Globalisation — the paradigm shift in HR' organised by the Madras Christian College, Lakshmi Narayanan, vice-chairman, Cognizant Technology Solutions, said more women were required in managerial posts to enhance the leaderships levels of a company which would aid the growth of the firm over a long period.
There was an urgent demand to foster innovation in the company's work procedure, he said.
Lakshmi Narayanan drove home the point that a significant challenge for business houses in India was to develop a concept of performance management that would help in facilitating the collaboration of superior talent from all over the world.
Microsoft India HR director Joji Gill said that managing talent was a vital component in a market-driven era where there was constant flow of skilled professionals in search of new assignments and projects.
He also pointed out that
success in HR management called for 'strategic thinking' pertaining to
talent acquisition, management and sustenance of efficiency and productivity.
