        R Poornalingam has been elected as the new president of the Indian Officers' Association, Chennai.

        At the annual general body meeting held here yesterday, Aranga Chellamuthu and A S Muthusamy were elected as vice-presidents.

        K Allaudin as general secretary, P Jayasingan as treasurer and V Kandasamy as joint secretary. Other executive committee members include S Murugaiah, S Kalaivani, V Jayamani, P Kathirvelu, K Balaraman, V Nagarajan, A Rajagopalan, P M Saravanan and G S Pandian, a press release said.
