        Tamilnadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala has said education imparts values, develops skills and improves the abilities of the youth.

        Speaking after inaugurating an air-conditioned auditorium at the Tamilnadu College of Engineering here yesterday, the Governor said,' Youth can be transformed into pillars of tomorrow's economy only through education.'

        He said socio-economic development can reach villages through education alone. For that, he said, education should be made affordable to all. He also said the country was on road to become a developed nation and was gradually becoming the world's brain power.

        Others who participated in the function include State Rural Industries Minister Pongalur Palanisamy, Anna University Vice-Chancellor R Radhakrishnan, college chairman P V Ravi and trustee Prema.
