        Tiruporur PMK MLA Moorthy has dubbed the complaint preferred against him by AIADMK functionary Gopikannan as a blatant lie.

        It may be recalled that the house of Maraimalai Nagar Municipality former chairman Gopikannan was attacked by some unidentified gang a couple of days ago.

        The AIADMK cadre preferred a complaint with Maraimalai Nagar Police stating that PMK MLA Moorthy was behind the attack due to political vengeance. Refuting the allegations, Moorthy told reporters yesterday that Gopikannan and his brothers were running a brothel in Maraimalai Nagar. And the residents of the locality made a plea to him for taking action against it.

        As MLA of the constituency, Moorthy questioned Gopikannan for running the brothel. Irked by this, Gopikannan enacted a drama by saying that his house was attacked and the car damaged by Moorthy's henchmen.

        Terming it as a blatant lie, Moorthy said that there were several cases pending against him in Maraimalai Nagar Police station. Moreover, when Gopikannan headed the Municipality, he failed to bring any development schemes to the area which remained neglected and backward.

        Now that PMK has earned the goodwill of the residents due to the good work of Moorthy. Unable to digest this, Gopikannan had indulged in enacting a drama to bring disrepute to him and the party.
