Special trains for Pongal

        Southern Railways will operate special trains to clear the extra rush of passengers during Pongal festival.

        According to a Southern Railway press release, Chennai Egmore - Nagercoil special train will leave Chennai Egmore on 10 and 14 January at 8.15 pm and reach Nagercoil at 10.45 am, the next day. The special train would leave Nagercoil on 11 and 15 January at 1.30 pm and reach Chennai Egmore at 4.30 am, the next day.

        Chennai Egmore - Nagercoil special train would leave Chennai Egmore on 16 January at 7 pm and reach Nagercoil at 8.15 am, the next day.

        The train would leave Nagercoil on 17 January at 1.30 pm and reach Chennai Egmore at 4.30 am, the next day.

        Nagercoil - Chennai Egmore special train would leave Nagercoil on 10, 12 and 16 January at 8.30 pm and reach Chennai Egmore at 9.30 am, the next day.

        Chennai Egmore - Nagercoil special would leave Chennai Egmore on 11, 13 and 17 January on 8.15 pm and reach Nagercoil at 10.45 am, the next day.

        Chennai Egmore - Nagercoil special would leave Chennai Egmore on 15 January at 7 pm and reach Nagercoil at 8.15 am, the next day.

        Nagercoil-Chennai Central special would leave Nagercoil on 14 January at 10 pm and reach Chennai Central at 4. 30 pm, the next day.

        Coimbatore - Chennai Central special train would leave Coimbatore on 16 January at 11.45 pm and Chennai Central at 8.30 am, the next day. Chennai Central - Coimbatore special train would leave Chennai Central on 17 January at 10 pm and Coimbatore at 7.15 am, the next day.

        Chennai Central - Trivandrum special train would leave Chennai Central on 11, 14 and 16 January at 10 pm and reach Trivandrum at 4.30 pm, the next day.

        Trivandrum - Chennai Central special would leave Trivandrum on 12, 15 and 17 January at 10 pm and reach Chennai Central at 12.15 pm, the next day.

        Chennai Central - Trivandrum special would leave Chennai Central 13 January at 4 pm and reach Trivandrum at 7 am, the next day. Trivandrum - Chennai Central special train would leave Trivandrum on 14 January at 10.30 am and reach Chennai Central at 4 am, the next day.

        Advance reservation for the above trains begins today, the release said.
