Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an IT services, business solutions and outsourcing major, announced that the 2007 edition of TCS IT Wiz - will be held in Chennai on 21 August, 2007.
The scale of the TCS IT Wiz has been expanded further this year with the quiz visiting 11 cities across the country starting in Chennai in August and ending in Mumbai in December.
During this period, the TCS IT Wiz will also take place in Ahmedabad, Bangalooru, Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow and Pune.
This nation-wide event is expected to reach out to more than 12,000 students across the country.
The 2007 TCS IT Wiz winners will walk away with laptops and the runners-up will be rewarded with iPods. The 6 finalists will also receive gift hampers from TCS and watches from Titan. TCS IT Wiz strives to enhance IT awareness among students, keeping them abreast of the latest developments in the world of IT, as information technology plays an integral role in today's society and economy.

This year the Chennai edition of the TCS IT Wiz will be held on 21 August, 2007 at the Music Academy. It is open to school students studying from 8th class Plus Two.
There is no entry fee. Only the first 500 registered teams will be allowed to participate.
Last year in Chennai over 1,500 students have taken part in this annual TCS IT Wiz, with winners emerging after a keenly contested event. The Chennai edition attracts participation from students well beyond the city boundaries with entries from schools in Kothagiri in the Nilgiris. TCS IT Wiz acts as a catalyst to trigger a passion for technology among students, which is the objective of the program.
Each institution is allowed to send multiple teams (two-members per team) to participate.
