Tamilnadu government has nationalised the literary works of noted 14 Tamil scholars and an ex-gratia amount of Rs 6 lakh each to their families was announced in an order issued today.
This move of the State government
was taken to perpetuate the memory of these renowned scholars by making
their books popular among the public. In the order issued today, the Chief
Minister M Karunanidhi has notified the works of 14 Tamil litterateurs
which would be adopted by the State for reaching them to the wider public.
The names of the scholars are: Mayuram Vedanayagam Pillai; T P Meenakshi
Sundaranar; T N Kumarasamy; K S Pillai; Gulam Khadir Navalar; V Sadasiva
Pandaarathar; Dr C Elakuvanar; Mahavidwan Dhandapani Desikar; T J Ranganathan;
Naarana Duraikannan; Dr M Rajamanickanar; Dr V Suba Manickam; and K Govindan.
