        Two different robberies at Kundrathur near here triggered panic among local residents.

        In the first incident, the house of Saraswathy (57) at Balaji Nagar, was broke into while she was away to her son's house at T Nagar. This morning, she returned to find 10 sovereigns of gold and Rs 18,000 in cash missing.

        In another incident, the shutter of an electric shop was forced open and cash totalling Rs 24,000 was taken away. Ramshuk, the shopowner at Panchatshram Street, has lodged a police complaint.
