        Two persons were killed and two others sustained injuries as a mini tempo hit a lorry near Vikravandi here early morning.

        According to police, Ganesan (41), son of Sarkarai of Theerthakarai village in Madurai district, Cholaiappan (28) of Melpattarai village in Virudhunagar district, Ganesan's daughter Seenupriya, wife Krishnaveni (24) and his brother Marimuthu were bound for Madurai from Tiruvottiyur in Chenai in a mini tempo with household articles.

        When the tempo was going on V Salai near Vikravandi, it collided with a lorry, resulting in the death of the tempo driver Cholaiappan on the spot. Ganesan seated in the front received serious injuries and was admitted to a hospital, where he died.

        Seenupriya and Krishnaveni were being treated as in-patients in the government hospital at Villupuram.
