        Media One Global Entertainment Ltd has plans to acquire 20 theatres in tier 2 and tier 3 cities in the State by the end of March 2007.

        Headquartered in Chennai with its subsidiary in London, the company is involved in production, distribution and exhibition of films.

        Announcing the acquisition at a press meet here on Wednesday, managing director of Media One Ltd Suryaraj Kumar said, 'initially, the company finalised acquisition of a theatre and negotiations were on to acquire two more in Chengalpet district.'

        'The theatres would then be refurbished with digital projectors, air- conditioners and other modern amenities,' he said. For this, the company plans to raise Rs 90 crore.

        Through their wholly-owned subsidiary in UK, the company is co- producing an English film Telling lies. The earlier film was an Aishwarya- starrer Provoked.

        Further, the company is producing a Tamil film starring Jeyam Ravi titled Dhaam Dhoom for which the shoot is on. Apart from production the company has produced many TV commercials.
