Chennai, Jan 12:

In a bizarre incident, the mutilated body of a man was found in a suitcase aboard the Brindavan Express and it has sent the railway police to Bangalore to identify the two persons who had left behind the 'luggage'.

According to police, Brindavan Express from Bangalore arrived at the Central Station at 11 pm on platform 5. After the passengers alighted, the train was taken to the yard and the railway employees were checking each compartment when they found an abandoned suitcase in a second class bogie. Railway police were promptly informed.

Police equipped with metal detectors searched for any explosive and as there was no indication they opened it and found the body of a man, aged around 30, with an orange and red coloured T-shirt and grey striped pants. His neck bore strangulation marks. His body was folded and hands tied in the back.

Police sent his body for postmortem and conducted enquiry. They learnt that two persons had boarded the train with the suitcase and alighted at Bangarpet leaving behind the suitcase.

A special police team has left for Bangalore in search of the duo. The motive behind the murder and identity of the deceased are not known.
