        The Local Crisis Group and members of Manali Industries Association participated in an off-site mock drill for Manali-Ennore industrial area at Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited's (CPCL) Manali Refinery recently.

        According to a press release, the drill was conducted by Thiruvallur District Collector Ranvir Prasad. The scenario was a LPG leak from one of the storage spheres of capacity 1400 MT inside CPCL campus.

        Inside the refinery campus, the on-site mock drill was headed by CPCL director K Balachandran.

        The District Collector witnessed the mock-drill and suggested measures for further improving the efforts of industry and district administration effectively to tackle industrial disasters.

        Chief Inspector of Factories K A Mohammed Aziz and director of Regional Labour Institute, Adyar, E M E K Raj were among those participated.
