        The death of N C Raghavachary removes from our midst one of the most outstanding legal wizards. He was one of the most respected legal luminaries and the legal brain to the MGR administration.

        He was instrumental in executing the will of MGR. He has a span of career in which he appeared for Kamaraj and earlier Rajaji which was a very rare distincton. A brainy lawyer with an excellent academic career, NCR was instrumental in legalising many important trusts.

        He was also a patron of arts and was instumental in promoting MFAC which is one of the important cultural organisations in the city of Chennai. His demise is a great loss not only to the legal field but also to the cultural arena.
