All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, so Chennai-based educational service organisation EZ Vidya with it's new computer enabled teaching technique Chrysalis has tried to made education more interesting.
Speaking to reporters, yesterday, on the launch of this new course, Chitra Ravi, founder cum CEO said, 'As educators our responsibility is to nurture thinking and this model has unique components like thinking skills, multiple intelligence, experimental learning techniques for students, teachers and the school management, all of which is woven around a theme chosen from academic topics.
'It enhances one's thinking and achieves vital technological capabilities. For the children there would be lots of fun and interactive sessions with the adoption of this unique computer curriculum, which integrates all the components of quality education,' she says.
'Chrysalis aims at making students 'IT capable' not merely 'IT literate' she added.
EZ Vidya is also into an action research programme on students, which has been initially tested on fifth standard students, before the launch of Chrysalis in schools. Talking about this Chitra said,'This is a 15 month research project with select schools, which is being supported by Wipro.'
She informed that the company had given a project proposal to Wipro, which would be finalised soon.
Wipro would be funding the programme, apart from providing a network of academicians.
EZ Vidya has worked with
more than 70 schools across the country and has trained more than 1,000
teachers in the past three years.
