Four persons, who murdered a youth, have been sentenced to life imprisonment by Poonamallee Fast Track Court judge. According to prosecution, four persons — Thirugnanam, Arumugam, Suresh and Narayanan - were arrested for murdering one Senthil Kumar alias Veera, a resident of Kamarajapuram at Ambattur on 31 December, 2006.
It is said Kumar had fallen in love with Meenakshi, the sister of the two accused persons. Since it was one -sided love affair, the girl informed her brothers about the issue. Enraged over this, her brothers along with two of their friends murdered Veera. Police arrested the four on charges of murder. Later, they were detained under Goondas Act and lodged in Central Prison.
The case came up for trial
before Poonamallee Fast Tract Court judge Asokan, who after hearing the
arguments sentenced them to life imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs
1,000 each.
