        Some unidentified persons made off with Rs 43,000 in cash from the house of a cooking contractor in Kothawalchavady area yesterday.

        Police said Arif, a resident of Kothawalchavady Naattu Pillaiyar Koil Street, worked as a cooking contractor for marriages. Last night, he opened his bureau to find all the cash in it missing.

        Kothawalchady police have started investigations.
