Chennai, May 15:
The ever-elusive Adhikesavan, who was arrested two years ago for cheating a lot of people including film stars by extracting commission prior to getting loans, continues to evade the police till date.
Reports have it that he's hopping from one hospital to another in a call taxi to get a dialysis done, and is looking for a hospital where there are no policemen.
It may be noted that policemen have fanned out to different hospitals in the city on learning that the fugitive, a renal failure patient, who has to undergo dialysis thrice a week for survival, is due for a check- up.
A resident of MKB Nagar, Vyasarpadi, Adhikesavan has over 30 cases pending against him. It is said that he was wanted by the Uttar Pradesh police too. There were four cases against him in that State. A police team from Uttar Pradesh was here and Tamilnadu police was assisting them to catch the fraudulent financier.
Police had gone to his house yesterday. He was not to be found. They learnt he had phoned up a doctor in a hospital that he would be present for dialysis that evening but he did not turn up.
Further, it came to the knowledge
of the police that he was making rounds in call taxis. Policemen were keenly
stationed at the check-posts to see that the accused does not escape out
of Chennai.
