'Young men and women should think about starting their own business ventures,' said Archana Patnaik, Additional Collector, Kancheepuram, at the self-employment programme, organised by Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST), in association with Standard Chartered Bank, International Labour Organisation and Government of Tamilnadu, for tsunami-affected youths in Kovalam recently.
She also mentioned BYST's special 'mentoring' programme for upcoming businessmen.
Various contests were also
held, as part of the self-employment programme, like Business Idea contest.
As many as 750 youths participated in the event from Kovalam, Semmencherry,
Uyalikuppam, Pudupattinam, Nemmeli and Panayarkuppam and other coastal
villages in Kancheepuram district. FIIWES president Nagaratina and BYST
steering committee chairman N Krishnan were also present on the occasion.
