University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) awarded course completion diplomas to educators at an event held at the British Council in the city recently.
According to the press release, a total of 22 educators from various states across South India undertook the course at Sri Kriti Institute and were awarded the Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers.
The Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers has been developed with the aim of helping educators with their professional development.
The Diploma, designed for practicing teachers, assists them in updating their teaching knowledge and skills which can effectively be applied in the classrooms.
Dental camp in school

M CT Muthiah Chettiar Higher secondary school is conducting a comprehensive dental checkup camp in their school campus for the benefit of the students.
According to a press release, the dental check up is being carried out by a group of experienced doctors from Tamilnadu Dental College and Hospital under the aegis of Dr Nasser, dean and principal of the hospital between 17 and 20 July.
Apart from screening the children with dental defects, treatment will also be given by the doctors.
There is also an exhibition highlighting the importance of the care and the maintenance of the teeth.
Kerala handicrafts expo from 19 July

Surabhi, the Kerala State Handicrafts Apex Co-operative Society will be conducting Kerala handicrafts fair from 19 to 30 July at C P Arts Centre, Eldams Road, Alwarpet.
According to a press release, exquisite collection of handicrafts, handloom, jewellery will be on display.
The general secretary of World Malayalee Council, A V Anoop will inaugurate the fair tomorrow at 11 am.
The exhibition will be open to public between 10 am and 8 pm and the entry is free.
Port Trust hospital creates record

The department of Orthopedics, Chennai Port Trust Hospital has performed the 'total elbow replacement' surgery to the wife of a retired employee using a prosthesis costing more than a lakh and a half which was imported from German.
According to a press release,
Dr C Raja Ravi Varma who performed the surgery said that though elbow replacements
are made in some places, this prosthesis has an exclusive component which
aids in the rotatory movements of the forearm.
