        The State Bank Staff Union has condemned the anti-labour attitude of the Central government.

        In a press statement, State Bank Staff Union general secretary V R Udaya Shankar said that they were shocked to learn from media reports that the Ministry of Labour Welfare and Employment has made it mandatory for the trade unions in banking industry to issue notice of strike before six weeks.

        He stated the government has unleashed oppressive measures against the employees in banking industry by bringing in such prohibitions in violation of sub section (1) of Section 22 of Industrial Disputes Act 1947.
