        A woman and her friends are suspected to have murdered the woman's husband, who is an architect in Taramani.

        Police said, S Karthiban (33), a resident of Periyar Nagar, was found murdered in his residence on Wednesday. He was married to Abirami and had one daughter.

        According to a statement initially given by Abirami, unidentified persons had broken into their house at 1.00 a.m. and attacked her till she lost consciousness. When she had regained consciousness, she found Karthiban murdered and a gold chain, weighing five sovereigns, missing, she stated.

        After further interrogation, she confessed to have had an illicit relationship with a lorry driver Jothi, with whom she had conspired to kill her husband. He had come to her house with two accomplices and murdered Karthiban on Wednesday night.

        Deputy Commissioner of Police Arun has formed five special teams to track down the trio.
