As gearless scooters are showing a strong demand growth in contrast with falling motorcycle sales, country's first advanced scooter brand Kinetic has made it to the coveted list of the 4PS B&M India's 100 most valuable brands. The list was compiled by Planman Consulting—ICMR Ranking after comprehensive research that looked at nearly 39,000 brands. Commenting on the inclusion of Kinetic in the coveted list, Sulajja Firodia Motwani, managing director, Kinetic Motor said, 'it feels great that Kinetic is one of the most valuable brands in India. It's clear recognition of over three decade of contribution to India's industry and people. Kinetic has sold over 6 million two wheelers and I am proud that this company has given the gift of mobility to so many.'
Chennai-based Sinar Jernih India (Pvt) Ltd has been awarded the International standard ISO 9001 certification for their quality management system. This certification was awarded after a rigorous assessment of its systems and procedures by TUV Nord. The assessment process examined not just the company's procedures but how they are applied on a day to-day basis. This achievement was a direct result of effectively developing and maintaining quality systems in its operations and management. Having achieved this benchmark, J S Shekar, executive director, Sinar Jernih said that the company has opted to be part of an annual reassessment cycle to ensure consistency as well as to ensure that the company will continue endeavouring for ways in improving the processes to practice the highest possible standards in service delivery.
Indian Overseas Bank jointly with Ponneri Taluk Legal Services Authority conducted a Lok Adalat recently at Padirivedu village, Gummidipoondi. Ponneri sub judge A Kayalvizhi inaugurated the adalat in the presence of N Xavier Thomas, assistant general manager, Indian Overseas Bank. The Lok Adalat helped the small borrowers in settling their accounts amicably without resorting to the cumbersome legal process. It has also helped the bank in the recovery efforts. Besides, it created an awareness among the public about the concept of Lok Adalat and the need for settlement of banking disputes amicably.

hosting the three-day Componex Nepcon India trade exposition beginning
from 20 February, 2008. The key exhibitors who had earlier participated
at the expo have signed up for the 13th edition of the mega event. According
to Mandeep Singh, COO, Reed Exhibitions, 'the electronic consumption industry
in India has over the years seen phenomenal growth and is now valued at
over $300 billion with an estimated growth rate of 23 per cent. The consumer
electronic industry of India alone is pegged at over $7 billion and is
