Students should strive hard to sustain the independence which was won after a long struggle by the freedom-fighters, Bala Subramanian, director, Indian Institute of Leather Products, has said.
He was speaking at a function to mark the 60th year of the country's independence organised by Lalchand Milapchand Dada Secondary School, Choolaimedu, here. He urged students to imbibe high moral and ethical values and urged parents to inculcate the same.
Parents are the first teachers of the students and it is important to inculcate good qualities in them by setting a good example, he said.
