        Aimed at creating computer awareness among the science educators and students, the Tamilnadu Science and Technology Centre in coordination with IBM India Pvt Ltd, is to organise a workshop titled 'Workshop on computer literacy and hands- on science learning' .

        The workshop would be held on 2 June at Periyar Science and Technology Centre between 10. 30 am and 5 pm.

        The organisers say the workshop is also aimed at providing hands- on methods in science education.

        According to executive director of the Tamilnadu Science and Technology Centre P Iyamperumal, in the present age, a person without computer literacy and awareness on computer applications cannot lead a comfortable life and added that to impart the knowledge on computers and applications, special training programmes are needed with the help of experts in the field.
