        A two-day national convention of the National Institution for Quality and Reliability (NIQR), a premier organisation devoted to the promotion of quality awareness among Indian industries will begin at Taj Coromandel from tomorrow. The theme of convention is 'Quality - Our social responsibility'.

        Speaking to reporters here yesterday, V R Janardhanam, president, NIQR said the convention would have seven sessions covering diverse subjects like infrastructure, healthcare, finance, IT/ITeS, manufacturing, education and media services. Distinguished speakers would present papers and around 200 delegates across the country are expected to participate, he said.

        At the valedictory function, NIQR awards for outstanding manufacturing, service, education, small scale industry would be given. Also, 'Quality man of the year' and 'Quality student of the year' awards would be presented, he said.
